(30.) Gabriel Shelton, son of Christopher Shelton and brother of 
Abraham Shelton, all three of whom were members of the Committee 
of Safety. All three were Vestrymen of the Parish and Captains of 
Militia. Gabriel Shelton commanded a Company of Pitts. Militia 
at battle of Guilford Courthouse. "At a meeting held for Cambden 
Parish at the house of Mr. Joseph Roberts, April 1, 1785, Haynes Morgan 
and Abraham Shelton, Gent., is appointed to attend the Convention to 
be held in the City of Richmond the eighteenth day of May next.
